| The chest-mounted Croll is part of the standard Ropeworks harness system. It mounts to the waist-level link that joins the chest harness to the sit harness, allowing for easy access by the technician. This allows for easy down-climbing as well as smooth ascent. Used in conjunction with the Petzl Ascension handled ascender, the Croll is part of a simple yet powerful sit-stand ascent system that allows easy maneuverablilty on rope.
If you require only the sit harness, the rope grab can be attached to the waist point with a carabiner and then secured to the chest with shoulder straps (Secure PA-C74). When properly positioned, the Croll automatically slides up the rope as the user climbs, allowing efficient progress. The main difference between the CROLL and BASIC (PA-B18) is the hole on the top of the CROLL is designed to accommodate a strap while the BASIC has a round hole for a full-strength carabiner connection. The Croll is made to lie flat against the technician's chest, remaining out of the way. |
