The safety and efficiency of industrial rope access operations depend on an organization’s commitment to successfully implement four key components: 1) Good Training, 2) Appropriate Equipment, 3) Experienced Supervision and 4) Appropriate Management Systems.
This Rope Access Orientation for Management course is designed to give managers and safety professionals a thorough overview and demonstration of rope access and modern work-at-height fundamentals. This 4-hour course reviews the critical components of an efficient and safe industrial rope access program and then introduces some of the basic techniques in a field environment. Material is based on SPRAT and IRATA guidelines and Cal OSHA requirements. Experienced rope access instructors will give a thorough demonstration of the capabilities of rope access techniques.
Learning Objectives
By taking this course the participants should have the following:
An understanding of the critical components of an effective and safe rope access program
Familiarity with some of the organizations that support rope access in North America.
An understanding of basic safety requirements of rope access operations based on SPRAT, IRATA and OSHA requirements.
Practical understanding of the capabilities of rope access operations.
Prerequisites
An interest in the practical application and management of rope access operations. No physical or technical prerequisites.
