In addition to our regularly scheduled open enrollment courses, we also provide custom training for groups. All our courses can be customized to meet the needs of the customer. Custom courses can be held at any of our training facilities or at a client’s facility, provided the venue meets the requirements for the training.

Facility Requirements for Rope Access Course

While providing training on-site is a possibility, it is not always ideal to provide the most comprehensive training. Most venues are not designed to meet the minimal requirements for rope access training and certification.

For SPRAT training and certification the location needs to meet a wide variety of criteria, such as, but not limited to:

  • A training center floor footprint minimum of 40 feet long by 24 feet wide

  • A usable ceiling height minimum of 24 feet over the entire floor area.

  • A separate, exposed edge platform area adjacent to the training floor at least 12 feet wide by 12 feet deep and a minimum 8 foot ceiling above it.

  • A conference room that can comfortably seat 8 needs to available with a computer projector, screen and a large white board for presentations.

  • The area needs to be exclusive of any conflicting activities that would produce noise, fumes, people walking through the area, etc.

  • The entire area needs to be well lighted, ventilated and some climate control

  • Bathroom facilities adjacent (or near) to the training floor.

For IRATA training and certification the location needs to meet even stricter requirements and must pass a formal audit of the facility. We generally find that holding the training at one of our purpose-built training facilities is a much more realistic option.

SPRAT & IRATA Evaluation Services

We currently have both IRATA assessors and SPRAT evaluators on staff and do our best to support the industry by providing this service when possible. Due to our busy training schedule, we recommend allowing as much lead time as possible when requesting evaluation/assessment services.

If you have questions about evaluation/assessment services and/or would like to receive an estimate for services, please contact us at
