Ropeworks instructors are known for their technical expertise, as well as their skill as educators. All Ropeworks instructors are professionals that actively work at height and all rope access courses are taught by SPRAT and IRATA certified Level III Technicians. Several of our staff members serve as evaluators, assessors, and technical committee members for SPRAT and IRATA.
Ropeworks Training Coordinator, SPRAT Level I TechnicianIf you’ve enrolled in a Ropeworks course, called with questions, or visited the Reno office, then you’ve likely had the pleasure to meet Meri Johnson. Her cheerful personality and wealth of knowledge about rope access administration makes her a cornerstone of the Mistras Ropeworks training program. Meri lives in Reno with her soon to be Husband, Matt and lovable Golden Retriever, Packson. When she’s not in the office, Meri enjoys going on outdoor adventures or cheering for the San Francisco 49ers.
Rope Access Technical Director, Instructor, SPRAT Evaluator, SPRAT & IRATA Level III Technician
Dave Nettle brings to Mistras/Ropeworks 40 years of experience working, teaching, and pursuing adventures at height. He is instrumental in shaping curriculum for our rope access and rescue programs. His organized and disciplined approach to work and life is complemented by his optimism, friendly demeanor and positive energy. When Dave is not working on the ropes, you'll find him climbing or backcountry skiing in the Tahoe Sierra or the mountains of Europe, South America, Asia and Alaska. Dave lives in Reno, Nevada with his wife Cadence.
Davide (Dave) Sartoni
Wind Turbine Rescue Technical Director, Ropeworks Instructor, SPRAT & IRATA Level III Technician
Davide Sartoni brings to Ropeworks over 12 years of experience working and training at height in a variety of settings. As a rope access technician, he has extensive experience working in the wind industry on numerous projects. His passion for training is fueled by his desire to share knowledge and promote learning. When he is not working, Davide enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and stand up paddleboarding.
MISTRAS Ropeworks Houston Training Center Coordinator and Lead instructor
Before Blake became the MISTRAS Ropeworks Houston Training Center coordinator and Lead instructor he was a traveling technician for MISTRAS Ropeworks. Blake possesses a wide range of skills, from wind turbines & high scaling to installs & inspections on various structures and buildings. In his spare time, Blake enjoys sport climbing, cribbage and espresso.

Nathan manages to stay involved in many aspects of our business. He always looks forward to working with technicians on the fundamental skills that enable our trade to flourish safely. He lives in Boulder, CO with his wife Kyla, their daughter Hazel, and Rudy the Dog.

Since joining the team in 2007, Reuben has has mastered every aspect of the Ropeworks training program. Clients often request him by name months in advance, so if you find yourself in one of Reuben’s courses, consider yourself for fortunate. His expertise in industrial rope access evolved from a passion for recreational climbing. When not at work, Reuben is usually traveling, rock climbing, skiing or at home relaxing and roasting coffee in Truckee, California.
Ropeworks Instructor, SPRAT & IRATA Level III TechnicianPaul Adams brings to the Mistras / Ropeworks instructor team 20 plus years of working and teaching at height. Before becoming IRATA and SPRAT level 3 certified, he was an AMGA certified rock guide with 12 years of guiding experience. His enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and experience in the recreation realm has been a positive asset to the industrial world of Rope Access focusing on safety and high quality. When not instructing he enjoys spending time in the mountains near his home in Truckee, CA with family and friends.
Ropeworks Instructor, SPRAT & IRATA Level III Technician
Scott brings a unique mix of rescue and teaching experience to the training program. Before joining Ropeworks Scott was a veteran member of YOSAR, the search and rescue team specializing in climbing rescue for Yosemite National Park. With a background in the traditional classroom and operational experience in the wind and petrochemical industries Scott entered the Ropeworks Training Program. Scott calls Yosemite Valley home and when not working can usually be found there enjoying the world class rock climbing.
